Lithuania was the last European country that practiced paganism, converting
to Christianity rather recently (not counting other religions that used to
be practiced there). Lithuania is representative of other countries in the
region such as Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Russia, etc.
Signs of syncretism, the combination of several religions still exist and
can be observed such as crosses with figures of Christ WITH
Pagan figures such as the Sun god, Perkunis the god of Thunder, etc. Indeed, a
temple for Perkunis still exists.
