Effectively, "hose" means underwear. Hose was composed of two kinds: upper hose or upper stocks (breeches) and nether hose or nether stocks (stockings). Canions were tight-fitting full length hose. Other articles of men's clothing are included such as doublets, suits, mandilions, gauntlets, etc.
