Decorum

Talented serf children were selected at an early age as it was deemed necessary to "Europeanize" these children, to ameliorate the negative effects of Russian serfdom, to make these children fit for society. This included teaching these serf children proper decorum. Proper decorum included wearing European clothing, knowing the proper way to walk, etc.
  1. Knyaginya Marfa Dolgorukaya: teacher of Praskovja Zhemchugova
  2. Serfs required to dress in European clothes
  3. Serfs required to learn to walk with proper decorum (on stage and in everyday life)
